I’ll be the first to admit that pregnancy hasn’t always been easy on my body. In fact, sometimes it’s been downright excruciating. The aches, pains, and sensations that go into growing a tiny human are not to be diminished! Fortunately, I’ve found some things that have made the past 8+ months go by a little more smoothly. I thought I’d share some of them in the hopes that they might help you as well!
5 Pregnancy Products on Amazon
- Heating Pad – This heating pad from Amazon was a lifesaver, especially in my second trimester when sciatica reared its ugly head. I had sharp pains that would shoot from my lower back through my bottom and legs. Sometimes, it was difficult to walk, especially at work. Coming home and being able to relax with this heating pad made a huge difference. The price is on point, the quality great, and it automatically shuts off so it stays safe.
- Seat Cushion and Lumbar Support Pillow – Speaking of sciatica and back pain, sitting down at work and trying to get things done was made pretty difficult when I couldn’t find a way to be comfortable. This seat cushion and lumbar support pillow combo fit perfectly on my desk chair and made working much more bearable. It helps support the back and makes good posture possible while providing soft comfort as well. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who has to sit at a desk for any amount of time during pregnancy,
- Dr. Teal’s Lavender Foaming Bath and Epsom Salts – I wouldn’t have made it through this pregnancy without my (almost) daily baths. The warm water (not too hot!) provided so much relief for muscle aches, sciatica pains, restless legs, sore feet, and more. This set of foaming bath and relaxing epsom salts lasted many months and made baths even more soothing. This product is a large size that will carry you through many a relaxing bath time, won’t irritate sensitive skin, and provides a lovely aroma that will help you erase the day and soothe into nighttime.
- Zahler Prenatal DHA Prenatal Vitamins – These vitamins were recommended to me by my sister who used them during her pregnancy. While they won’t make you feel more comfortable, you can have the comfort and peace of mind of knowing that you are providing your baby with essential vitamins and minerals to support development. You can save money on Amazon by using their Subscribe & Save option. These aren’t too big to swallow and don’t have any funky aftertaste either!
- The New Dad’s Playbook – This isn’t for physical comfort either as much as it is for mental comfort. I bought this book for my husband because it was written by a former Saints player and had a relatable sports theme for my sports-fanatic spouse. This actually taught him a lot about pregnancy and how to support his wife during this time – it’s got everything from stories of personal experience to scientific explanations. I got a little more peace of mind knowing my husband was learning about what was happening with my body and the baby. He really enjoyed reading this book, and he’s not a huge reader!
I hope some of these items might be of help if you’re currently expecting and experiencing all those pregnancy aches and pains. My little one is currently kicking away at my ribs as I finish writing this post – but I haven’t found a solution for that one quite yet!
